I am directed by the Secretary of State to acquaint you, for the
information of the larl of Clarendon
that as Mor.
Ludwig Beger resident in the Colony of Hongkong
appears to be

the Governor has been instructed to report whether he is aware, or
not, of any objection to his appointment
Netherlands Consul at
Hongkong
but if he is not aware of any such objection, he has been instructed
to recognize Mr. Ludwig Beyer
provisionally in that capacity, until the arrival of the Exequatur.
